A highlight for me this year has been the invitation to sponsor one of the categories in the 2022 UK Pool & Spa Awards, the UK’s biggest competition for water leisure.
The UK Pool & Spa awards are the opportunity to showcase the very best in pool design and construction, highlighting just how important this industry is in the UK.
I enjoyed judging the ‘Commercial Pool ‘category and I have to say these were all strong entries and each, worthy winners in their own right.
Commercial Pool refurbishment projects are going strong all around the country. From the UK’s oldest lido, Cleveland Pool in Bath, lovingly and faithfully restored to its former glory and re-reopening after a £9.3m restoration project to more modern pool refurbs, like Derbyshire swimming pool; undergoing a £1.5m makeover to ensure warmth and sustainability. Just two of many projects going on that, once complete, will be appreciated by bathers young and old.
The projects presented in the commercial pool category where no exception, demonstrating why these are successful companies in this sector of the leisure market. Attention to detail and dedication was obvious across the board and it was very hard to judge.
I am looking forward to Awards night, finally meeting the entrants face to face, catching up with customers and industry colleagues and announcing the winner of the Commercial Pools Award 2022.
