The Nhulunbuy Aquatic Centre’s Town Pool is frequently used by local residents, tourists and Fly-in/Fly out workers, and had previously used a chlorine gas disinfection system. Upgrade work was required to ensure continued water quality and reduce the risks associated with chlorine gas.
Gaffey Australian distributor, WestWater Enterprises Pty Ltd replaced the outdated system with a new Hyprolyser® Electro-Chlorination System, which was housed inside the existing Water Treatment Building. An important aspect consideration was to provide the Hyprolyser® with a chilled, softened water supply and plant-room air-conditioning in order to maintain reliable operation and comply with equipment warranty conditions.
All design, construction, installation and commissioning was handled by WestWater, in accordance with Contract, Rio Tinto and Australian Standards.
